A few different ways to spend Cupid’s Day E-mail
Home

I put a call out to the PR world to see what is being spruiked this Valentine’s Day and there really is something for everyone. Read on to see what tickles your fancy for this February 14.

Fly over Paris, Venice or Rome…

Too cash strapped to jet off to a romantic city this Valentine’s Day? Check out www.flightexperience.com.au and give your beau the ultimate, ahem, ride.

You can whisper sweet nothings at 10,000ft over the likes of Paris, to your loved-one for a fraction of the price.

Flight Experience is a replica Boeing 737-800 flight simulator that is similar to those used to train commercial pilots. The authentic replica cockpit, wraparound visuals, and high-fidelity sound all combine to make this a realistic experience, and a gift that will win the heart of any male. It’s like giving the gift of a giant Nintendo Wii – you will have brownie points until this time next year.

Inject a little Shakespeare into your evening…

Calling all true romantics, Shakespeare Under The Stars returns to the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne with Glenn Elston's production of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Pack a picnic and witness the fairies come out to play mayhem with innocent lovers in the madcap world of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

A special Gala 21st Anniversary performance will be held on Valentine’s Day at 8pm. Cash sales are available at the on-site box or book in advance at www.shakespeareaustralia.com.au

Spend the night with Bradley Cooper…

If you have ever dreamt about spending Valentine’s Day with Bradley Cooper, Patrick Dempsey or Topher Grace this may be as good as it is going to get. Hollywood’s A list come together in “Valentine’s Day”, a story about the day in the life of love.

Seen through the eyes of a multigenerational cast of characters (think Twilight’s heartthrob Taylor Lautner through to screen icon Julia Roberts), “Valentine’s Day” threads its way through a variety of relationships from young crushes to old flames.

The Heart Foundation is holding a screening on Friday 12 February at Palace Barrack Cinemas, Brisbane, to raise funds for research into women and heart disease and to celebrate Cupid’s holiday of course. Tickets are on sale now at www.heartfoundation.org.au/qld

Directed by romcom genius Garry Marshall, here’s hoping this is the next big chick flick.

Consume chocolate. Lots of it…

If you are a chocoholic, (and what woman isn’t?), then consider your Valentine’s Day plans sorted. Ripple Massage has introduced the decadent chocolate massage, bringing lashings of chocolate to sweethearts across Australia.

The method, which was uncovered in a small day spa in Barcelona, Spain, uses warmed chocolate oil from head to toe.
While being covered in Cadbury may sound a bit out there the fact that this mobile day spa comes to you makes it a winner in my little black book. Visit www.ripplemassage.com.au

Organise some hired help…

Picturing a Bridget Jonesesque Valentine’s Day? Before busting out a rendition of ‘All by Myself’ gather a posse and consider enlisting the help of Butlers in the Buff. The new butler service which recently arrived in Australia offers a premium, bespoke service that is unique to say the least. The Butlers are on hand throughout the course of the evening to serve champagne and canapés, top up drinks, cook a BBQ, or open the door and greet guests upon arrival. Plus you have the option of your butler being dressed in a bottom-revealing apron. How, erm, cheeky. Visit www.butlersinthebuff.com.au... I think I’ll stick to a drink at the bar.
